Description

JOB PURPOSE

Overall leadership in the development and execution of the bank’s business development strategy in line with the banks vision, mission and corporate strategy. Working closely with the heads of segments and senior management, the job holder will offer strategic direction to the Community, SME, Retail and Bancassurance segments.

  • Cross selling insurance products to the bank clients
  • Quality of the loan portfolio
  • Leadership development

JOB PROFILE

a) Bank Business Strategy Development and Implementation

  • Formulation and execution of the Banks’ business segments strategies
  • Review performance against the set objectives and take remedial actions
  • Review consumer and market trends and take remedial actions to ensure banks competitiveness
  • Growth of the bank’s deposits book
  • Growth of the loan book
  • Manage the business development functions efficiently
  • Review products portfolio regularly and recommend amendments or new products

b) Effective business delivery structures and processes

  • Align the structures to business strategy to enhance strategy execution
  • Review the business workflows and work with the stakeholders to ensure efficient business processes

c) Efficiency in loan collections and recovery of bad debts

  • Project relevant trends in internal and external environment that affect the collectibles of the portfolio and isolate potential problem areas
  • Daily Monitoring of loan collections and institute remedial actions as appropriate
  • In liaison with branch managers, enforce recovery of delinquent accounts
  • Outsourcing problematic accounts to external service providers for recovery
  • Plan and coordinate realization of securities for defaulting accounts
  • Recommend NPLs for write-off as per credit policy

d) Leadership Development

  • Build and develop a high performing culture for all team members through embedding performance development and coaching.
  • Measure and evaluate staff performance against key performance indicators
  • Ensure continuous training, mentorship and capacity building the business leadership team
  • Provide leadership and ensure total employee engagement in the bank
  • Stakeholders management

e) Bankwide AML KYC & CFT Responsibilities

  • Communicating and reinforcing the AML-CTF compliance culture established by the board
  • Implementing and enforcing the board-approved AML, KYC & CFT policy within the Department, Unit or Branch

Any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor

PERSON PROFILE

  • Relevant business related Degree
  • A Master's Degree in a business related course is desirable
  • Relevant working experience in Business Development department
